Mark calls me and asks if I can help him bring home a 96 Jaguar XJS convertible from Green Forrest AR; Of course!
We get it loaded up and head home; with everyone who comes past us first slowing to look at the car, then slowing to see what kind of moron would drag home such a thing! We both think it will be up and running inside a week 😉 Seriously, we put a jump box on the battery and the thing turned over! If we find the fuel pump "rollover
" switch and reset it, the thing will probably fire up. On a sad note, we scratched one of the doors getting it off the trailer (that's what he gets for asking for MY help...)

I bought this for the rear end for my XJS, as this one has outboard disc brakes. Walt had to point it out to me when we got there as it was so flattened and sunk in the dog poop and dirt that I did not recognize it! The surprising thing is, the leather seats and interior are in really good condition, and will find a new home in my Jag.

By the way I hope that if you get the desire for anew ragtop that you find one in a little better condition than mine, as I have at least3 solid days of work to get this back on the road!

PS- anyone need a 4.0 liter AJ16 engine....?

Why would someone as tall as Mark buy a car that has all that custom work to make it shorter?

Every once in a while you get really lucky! The rear end has the super rare 3.54 rear end ratio instead of the standard 2.88 and it also has a Limited Slip differential! Now I have to make enough power to need an LSD! Thank goodness for turbos and superchargers!

By the way, the guy bought the car new and his wife and daughter wrecked it while he was in the hospital for a hip replacement, and did not tell him until he got home. He said he's been mad at them for 5 years now!
